WSSH Names James Hatchitt as Partner in the Firm

The firm has announced that James Hatchitt has been selected as a partner, recognizing his experience and contributions to the firm and its clients. An Austin native, James focuses his practice on representing businesses in state and federal courts in disputes involving contracts, insurance coverage, employment, real estate, and fiduciary matters. He has successfully represented clients in several arguments before the Supreme Court of Texas, including multiple petitions for review that resulted in favorable outcomes.
Prior to joining the firm in 2022, James served as a partner at a litigation boutique in Austin and as a litigation associate in Houston for an international law firm. He earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his law degree from Baylor University School of Law, and served as a law clerk to Judge Ed Kinkeade in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
James is a graduate of the Austin Bar Leadership Academy, has served on multiple committees for both the Austin Bar Association and the Austin Young Lawyers Association, and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He also provides pro bono work for Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas at both legal advice clinics and through full representation of qualifying clients.
